How does it all work?


Save yourself the hassle of needing to buy all the items needed, and trying to figure out how to make it all work! True North will come, set everything up, and make sure everything is exactly what you would like it to be! No work is needed from you. Afterwards, our “pic-nitian” will come back at the agreed upon time for the cleanup, and you are free to go! All we require from you is to show up, and enjoy yourself!




Where can we have our picnic?


We have our favourite hot spots in #yeg, but we can potentially do it at any park within the city. Our default location is Hawrelak Park however we can also take special requests. Just let us know some of the details prior to booking, including a GPS location, and the True North operations team can review the request. If you would like something more private, our “pic-nitians” can also come, and set everything up in your own backyard.

Please note that we may not always be able to accomodate custom locations, please wait for a confirmation email prior to booking (see cancellation policy).




What if it rains?


It’s in our name: True North. We live in a great city, but understand that the weather conditions in #yeg can often fluctuate! We monitor the weather reports closely and a confirmation e-mail will be sent out 24 hours prior to your picnic date. If it is forecast to rain during your booked time, we will work with you to change the date if needed, and make sure you will still get exactly what you want!




What is not allowed during our picnic?


We are obligated to abide by the bylaw 2202 (parkland bylaw) This is for everyone using the city parks. As of right now, alcohol is only permitted at designated city picnic sites. Examples of other items not permitted include:

-Open flames

-Structures (including canopies and tents)




Am I able to make modifications on our food?


Yes! We are a very flexible company, and your enjoyment is our first priority! Please let us know what modifications may be needed prior to booking, and we will do our best to accommodate all requests.




What are you doing in terms of COVID-19 measures?


We thoroughly clean and sanitize all our equipment after each use. On top of this, we will provide you with sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer, which are included in every package! Your safety is our number one priority. Outdoor picnics also work great for social distancing measures, and our “pic-nitians” can always adjust any picnic set up, based on your needs or requirements.




Do you offer custom celebrations?


True North loves celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, proposals, showers, date night, or whatever type of event you can think of! We love creating something special for you, and will work with you to make sure that this happens.




Do you stay during the picnic?


No. Our “pic-nitians” will come, set up, greet you (to make sure you have everything that you need) and leave. We will come back at the agreed upon time, but if you need us during your picnic, you can text or call our “pic-nitian” and we will be there as soon as we can!




Should I include my children in the reservation?


Children of all ages are of course welcome, but it depends on what they will require! If you will need additional food for them, then please include them in your reservation. If there is no food required for them, then there is no need. However, we do recommend you send us a note, so that we can ensure there are extra cushions/pillows!




What if we have to leave early?


If you need to leave earlier than the arranged time, please provide us a 30 minute notice via phone call or text. Our “pic-nitians” will get there as soon as possible.




Do I need a permit?


True North has all the licensing requirements needed to accommodate your picnic. If you do require something additional, such as a covered location, this will be an additional cost, and subject to availability in our #yeg locations.




What is your cancellation policy?


If you would like to cancel, please let us know as soon as possible. Cancellations made 2 weeks in advance of your booking will be refunded 90% of your total. Cancellations made within 14 days of your booking will be subject to a 25% fee. If you booked for a custom location prior to receiving a confirmation e-mail from our team, please note that your booking is still subject to our cancellation policy.
